Energy Solutions From the Ground Up

ÉnergieRich advances opportunities for communities to establish durable renewable energy and technology access through local production of innovative appropriate technology

Please Support Our Fundraiser!

You can help us realize our goal of traveling to Burkina Faso this summer
to work with our community partners in Koupela -  as we establish our first Center for local clean energy technology innovation.

The tremendous work of our Stanford and UCSB engineering teams has resulted in a prototype
of a 200 egg capacity poultry egg incubator!  Together with the community we will launch local assembly of the incubator and local assembly of solar panels from components.  We will also establish the framework for long-term technology and capacity building.

Join us on our journey
as we bring together engineers, artists and educators from the U.S. France and Burkina Faso, to spark a global movement of community empowerment

ÉnergieRich in partnership with Burkina Énergie & Technologies Appropriées (BETA) is transforming the means of production in local communities by implementing local production of solar products and technology at a lower cost than imported equipment.

The production of economically viable and socio-cultural appropriate technology produced and sold by the local population, provides economic, educational, technological and health stimulus for rural areas in Burkina Faso, West Africa.

Burkina Énergie & Technologies Appropriées (BETA) is a locally-led social enterprise operating in Burkina Faso since 2003.  BETA has successfully introduced over 4000 solar panels and solar lights in homes, businesses, schools and health clinics in the Center East Region of Burkina Faso.

STEM undergraduate, graduate students and faculty from  West Africa and underrepresented groups in the U.S. and France are partners in the design and development of innovative low cost technology.  Young engineers develop a sense of global social responsibility while providing a source of innovative design ideas in partnership with underserved communities.

Ultimately we seek to spark a major transformation of the  organization of economic production and innovation in underserved local communities while inspiring new STEM      innovators with a global social consciousness and responsibility.
